    At the end of the word, it looks like there is the downwards sweep of the letter "g". So, "missing" child, perhaps?

    Perhaps Jane. She is recorded as "Housekeeper" - but for whom?

    However, it may also be that the children were there on the night of the census, but belonged to someone else...
