searching for birth record

I am looking for a birth record can anyone help please?
His name was John Mitchell, he was born around the late 1930's possibly the early 1940's. I think he was born in Middlesex but could of possibly been born in Cornwall. I have searched and cannot find a record! His mothers name was Wild, I have found a record for a John Mitchell with the mother Wild in the early 1930's(with the help of another kind member) but this is not him.

I have checked the index from 1936 - 1945 and only one I found with mmn Wild was John V. in Dec 1940 [Bethnal Green 1? : 87]
