I got my grandads marriage certificate through the post today, but I am disappointed, I am sure it said if you did your own research and gave them the appropiate numbers, for your £7.00 you got a full certificate but this only tells me what I have already found out, mainly with help from Annie.
But I have thier ages in 1907 ,Joseph 21 years, and Mary Elizabeth 19 years, also bachelor and spinster, so she is not the widow on one of the census forms, also grandads dad was George Henry, and her dad Stephen Garbutt
(deceased) so where do I go from here?

You should have, on the certificate -
Names of bride and groom, plus residence at time of marriage and occupations
Fathers name and occupation for both bride and groom plus probably if alive or dead.
Witnesses, how married (by licence or banns), church or registry office plus details of where.
That is the sort of info I would expect on a full marriage certificate.

What details were you hoping to find on the certificate? Perhaps you need to look at a different source of information. The marriage cert will prove useful anyway - they are direct relations, so it is good to have the details in your possession, even if the certificate doesn't help to move your research forward.

Now that I have found my great grandad,
George Henry Watson : born Shorne Norfolk 1853
Married to Selena Renshaw Born Staveley Derbyshire
    and 9 Children
Do I have to purchase their birth certificates to find out their parents?

In order to be certain, yes.

If you order the birth certificates for George & Selina, they will also provide details of their mothers' maiden names, which will then help you to track down the next generation back.

DD - If you haven't made a typo, where have you got that bit of information from? Neither the Norfolk Transcription Archive, nor Genuki Norfolk, nor streetmap.co.uk list a Shorne in Norfolk, but streetmap does show a Shorne in Kent

Sort-of answered my own question. 1901 census. RG13/3257 folio 23 page 6 in Staveley. Though I would say it looks more like Sharne.
    Which also don't exist.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a certain knowledgeable young man to come riding to the rescue. Geoffers, where are you?
