    Default Gagette

I am looking for the Gagette family
Philip James Gagette born in 1811 married Ann Brien also born in 1811
marriage took place at St Matthew Bethnal Green in 1832

    Frederic Gagette born in 1831
    Philip Gagette born in 1835
    Eliza Gagette born in 1838
    George Gagette born in 1840

I have found them on the 1841 census but the name was spelt Gazelle
and on the 1851 census spelt Gagette
His wife died in 1882 but I can not find them on any other census only the children who all lived in the Middlesex area.

    Can anyone help please.
    Thanks

Do you have the reference for the 1851?, where do they say they were born on the 1851 census?

It says in both census he was born in Middlesex and in both census the children are the same. I am wondering if there are any other variants of the spelling?

In the 1861 census I have found his son Phillip married to Priscilla the name is spelt Gaggette living in Shoreditch.

Thank you for your input and I am going to visit the Genealogy society in London tomorrow and will see what I can find out there.

    Any information is greatly appreciated.

There are many Gagette descendants (including myself) but the name has all but vanished. There was a Gagette 'thread' last year. Eliza Meers, nee Gagette, was a great-great-grandmother of mine, through her daugher Eliza Priscilla Fortune, nee Meers.

    Hello

Eliza Meers (nee Gagette) was also my great great grandmother via Phillip Meers who married Phillipa Stables they were my grand parents. Do you know where they originated from? I have heard it was Milan in Italy.

Hope to hear from you soon.
