There's a good chance that the coroner's records have been destroyed but inquests were often reported in local newspapers.

Hi Tabby,
I'm possibly telling you what you already know, I'm not sure.
Coronor's papers are subject to an (I think!) 75 year closure.
So your most likely source would be if the inquest were reported in a local newspaper.
I'm guessing there will be several of those for the Wolverhampton area, so perhaps you could post your best guess at exact location.
Hopefully someone will be able to suggest most likely paper(s) to search.
Alternatively if you apprach the relevant records office, they will also make suggestions.
I'm assuming you have a date ? Without that it would be a major task!
