    Smile my derbyshire surnames

I thought it was time to update my Derbyshire connections.

    PACKWOOD Staveley

    BRINDLEY Milford/Duffield Parish 1800s

CHADWICK Milford from about 1800 s coming from Alstonefield Staffs.

    WATSON Belper 1800s

    HALLAM Melbourne Draycott Wilne

    CLERK/CLARK/HALLAM Wilne/ Asbourne

The multiples are because these are the surnames given at various times.
If there are Packwoods on this forum I would love to hear from them.

I have questions about Alstonefield Chadwicks and Watsons in Belper. I would like to discuss them with you, if I may. cicilysmith

Regarding Furnace Hill, this was asked on another site ages ago and I am certain it isn't there now or is called something else. I have just Google around Staveley with the satellite view and there isn't much left of what used to be the works.

    Hi Kath,
I have several Chadwicks from the Derbyshire area from the mid to late 1800's. I don't know from whence they hailed originally, but there's always a chance they're the same ones you're looking for.

married Mary Hearn B. 1856-1858 Glossop, Derbyshire
Children: Mary Agnes (may have been adopted or the child of Mary's first marriage) B. 1879 in Bakewell, Derbyshire - Mary Agnes married Ernest BEARD B. 1881 in Glossop
    John B. 1882 in Glossop,
    Hannah B. 1883 in Glossop
    Arthur L. B. 1886 in Glossop
    Robert D. B. 1887 in Glossop
