I have just found a family member that was born in Huyton, England abt. 1866. Would somebody be kind enough to tell me which census district that would be in at that time?
Thank you, Sharon

Huyton is now a surburb of Liverpool, Lancashire. Who are you looking for? I think Liverpool Records Library may have the church records for Huyton.

Huyton,
I'm looking for an Edith Lydiatt, daughter of Joseph Lydiatt and Jane Forger. I have not found her yet in the 1901 Canadian census so do not know when she left England.

I can find Edith in the 1871, 1881 & 1891 censuses in Huyton. Do you already have this information?

www.lancashirebmd.org lists a couple of marriages that might be of interest:
Joseph LYDIATT married Jane FRYER in 1858 at St Michael's, Huyton.
Edith E. LYDIATT married Edmund ROBERTS in 1907 at St James, Toxteth Park, Liverpool.

Sofar I have nothing except her marriage in Canada in 1914. On the marriage affidavit she states that she is a spinster, age 53. She married a widower age 52. On the affidvit her mothers maiden name could be Fryer (it is really hard to read, Ancestry translated it as Forger)

If you look on the IGI on www.familysearch.org you will find the family. The marriage of Joseph & Jane is extracted from the original records, but the births of the 11 children are all "patron submitted", with no source given. I notice that one of the children apparently died on the Titanic!
You can look through them while I get going on the censuses.

The marriage of Edith E. in 1907 is probably not your girl after all. I found these births listed on the General Register Office (GRO) index:
Edith LYDIATT born September quarter 1862, Prescot registration district, volume 8b, page 507. [Prescot covers Huyton].
Edith Elizabeth LYDIATT born September quarter 1883, West Derby registration district, volume 8b page 469. [West Derby is one of the Liverpool registration districts].
The birth certificate will give the full names of both the parents, plus the father's occupation. You can order online from the GRO on www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates .
