If you were asking about ordering a certificate, you do it here:

    https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Read the "Frequently Asked Questions" before trying to order.

I'd use the second (FreeBMD) reference if I were you.

A very good point Peter and a perusal of a number of pages fails to reveal any entries for the RHA.

I have had a look for the other kids in the military births recorded with the R.A. but with the uncertainty regarding the years of birth it is difficult.

    Eliza - nothing obvious

    Florence - nothing obvious

    Gladys - nothing obvious.

I suspect that the multiple entries for each name is probably the same child being entered in different registers though I am prepared to be corrected on this. Unfortunately the indexes did not come with driving instructions. Perhaps Geoffers may be able to shed some light on this.

    1888 or 1898?

Nothing in Free BMD ( https://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ ) in 1898 but in 1888 there is this:

    Births Dec 1888
    BARNES Ethel Leeds 9b 551

    Ann,
At the moment all you are doing is sending everyone round in circles.
    Message number 6.
Ethel c1888, probably born in India.

Ethel could have been born in Leeds. Her date of birth is 1898.
    Message number 26
    Birth date 1895 or 1894.

If your aunt is still alive then you need to have a serious talk with her. Find out precisely what she knows for fact. What she knows in general. And what she thinks she knows. As it is, you're giving us conflicting information. Other bits are coming in dribs and drabs, e.g. about Walter's regiment, then being posted at Woolwich, then the Boer War.
As I've already said, Army people are quite difficult to trace purely because they often escape the census.
Going through the GRO Index to find Walter's death registration and his age at death and therefore perhaps confirm his year of birth a little more accurately would be of help too. You can do that online via Ancestry. If you want more details, please ask.
