SMITH family - Sudbourne pre 1841

Jonathan & Martha Smith and their 8 children were living near Bury, Lancs in 1841 census. All children born in Sudbourne area, last one in 1833/34. Jonathan was a CARPENTER, born circa 1782 in Harleston. How can I trace any information regarding their migration to Lancs., assuming it was in connection with the Poor Law Amendment Act 1834?

My second Greatgrandmother was called Emma Hufton (nee Smith) born in Lowestoft Suffolk. She was borne circa 1827, I now she travelled a lot, as she had children in Stanton Lacey, Penge (Kent), and Newtown, finally settling in Broughton Manchester where she had two more children before becoming a widow.

I Know Emma as Emma Dixon, and that she had a relative in Broughton that had a shop of some description.
