I am trying to trace my O'Sullivan family who I believe used to live in Outherard, Galway.

Violet Esther O'Sullivan marries Arthur Edward Ryan in stretford near Manchester in 1929, both were born in Ireland. violet was 20yrs old and Arthur was 28.

Violets mum was called Jane Mcadam we think she was born in Scotland.

Father was Charles George O'Sullivan a Police Constable, he was already dead in 1929 ( marriage certificate)

Jane a catholic married charles a protestant. She used to clean the protestant church. All the girls were brought up Catholic and all the boys as protestants.

The two main things I wanted to know was..

Did every town in Galway have both a Catholic and Protestant church in it?

Are there any records on Police Constables?

The records on ancestry werent conclusive.

Any help would be appreciated, as I cant get to the area in the near future.
