    Default William Ward Read

This may well be a shot in the dark, but here goes anyway...

I am trying to trace any descendents of William Ward Read (always known at home as Ward), who emigrated from England to the USA in 1913. Born in 1894, he was the brother of my maternal grandmother, Mabel Phoebe Turner nee Read, and the son of William and Emily Read of Stalham, Norfolk.

After some sort of family row 19-year old Ward packed a bag and walked out of his parents' house in Stalham saying that he was 'going to California'. He was never seen or heard from again, much as his desperate family tried to find him.

In fact, he did emigrate to the US, sailing from Liverpool on the SS Baltic and was processed through Ellis Island on March 15, 1913. the only other clue that I have managed to track down is that he may have settled and raised a family in Monroe, New York State or at least was living there around 1917

If anyone is ableto give me any further information on Ward's life in the US it will help to clear up a long-standing family mystery and I thank you for your help.
