Question Looking for Roche Family, Ebbw Vale

I am a new member to this Forum and actually to Genealogy too! I am starting to look for my father's family, from Ebbw Vale. He was born there in 1927. How do I begin from Australia? I have no contacts at all with family that he might have had or still have there. Maggy

You start by telling us all you know about the person you are looking for. Name, date of birth, place of birth, date of marriage, names of any brothers and sisters. Do you know the names of his parents?

There are lots of websites to visit that can aid your research some of them are pay per view where you can search so far and then you have to pay to see the pages with the detailed information.

This is a good place to start most of the time but they don't yet go as far up to date as 1927.

is another good site but this is pay per view

But start with telling us what you know and the people on here will be really helpful

Hi Maggy, I'm just browsing and came across your query. Roche seems like a good old Irish name so how about writing to the Ebbw Vale Caholic church? They may have some info for you there.........
