One of the entries in Palling baptism PR for 1806 reads John Moll, son of Ann Moll - Thomas Empson the father "as the girl confesses". (Seems as if 4x great granddad was a naughty boy.)

I dont suppose you have an illegitimate child in your booklets of a Harry Lane? born 1875 Surbiton, Surrey to an Eliza Ann Lane 1852-1945 Bishopstoke Hampshire do you, as I am trying to trace the biological father of my great great grandfather

Johanna, the 'booklets' referred to higher up this thread relate to the parish of Birstall in Yorkshire in the mid-1700s, and are unlikely to help with your query.

So I have copied your post to a new thread here. You may want to add to the new thread any further information that you have about Harry LANE.

Anyone who can help, please reply on the new thread.
