    Hi,

What do you think of this one? Edward had siblings if you think this is the correct one.

Parents were Edward Wilkns and Sarah

hi somehow I missed these replies than you very much ellie I usually check all new posts but didnt see your replies.

an update on the wilkins saga.

from rootsweb a searcher was after this family ..but she said that the name of rebecca dennis's mother was sarah SCAMMEL not cambell as mentioned on her death certificate in aus.
makes sense as i cant find cambells anywhere. (tried emailing the researcher but it is a dead email address).
so that clears up the cambell thing.
found the marriage in compton abbas. not fontmell magna.

she also mentioned that edward wilkins came from MOTCOMBE (just as elley has found.)
i searched and found the family on the 1841 census for motcombe

"Motcombe Street; Edward WILKINS; 34; M; ag. Lab.; Born in Dorset

    ; Rebecca WILKINS; 35; F; ; Born in Dorset

    ; Thomas WILKINS; 7; M; ; Born in Dorset

    ; Gedion WILKINS; 5; M; ; Born in Dorset

    ; Mary WILKINS; 4; F; ; Born in Dorset

    ; Sarah WILKINS; 1; F; ; Born in Dorset

; Sarah WILKINS; 73; F; ; not Born in Dorset

they are however missing from the 1851 census from motcombe.
also a marriage is mentioned of his presumed father edward wilkins but the name of sarah is given as LOWE all other details match so maybe one transcriber has made an error.
LOVES are also on the census but no LOWES anywhere.
and at least 2 other wilkins married "LOVES" seems to have been a very small village as several names are repeated as spouses in the wilkins family.
Is it possible for someone to look for this family in the 1851 census they migrated 1853 to aus h certificate in aus.

I asume they are somewhere close in dorset.
on the 1841 census their daughter sarah's birth date is about 8 years out( from MY sarahs all the other siblings match. so I need to check if they had another daughter named sarah who would show up on the 1851 census .
    my thanks again elley

Is that where they disapeared to (only a couple of miles away and I couldnt find them) thank you so much elley now it explains the age difference there were 2 sarahs this younger one is "my" sarah.

if you could give me the christening details that would be great. .
I only have ages from census and the ships list.
I heard they had a dairy farm here in australia. so seems he stayed in the same line of work.
