Long shot!
Hi Allan, I've hit a brick wall with my Margaret Cowey who may or may not have married a John Robson in 1853 GRO Newcastle T, Volume 10b, page 68 (it's 50:50 between him and a Walter Mathison). I haven't purchased this marriage cert as I haven't been focusing on Margaret at this stage of my digging but thought I'd double check with you whether or not you have come across her in your research. I have no record of her in the 1861 census as Margaret Cowey, so I looked up marriages and the listing above was the only one in Newcastle, although there was one in Sunderland and one in Easington so perhaps they may also be possibilities? Anyway, if you have anything on Margaret Cowey in your research I'd be grateful if you'd point me in the right direction!!
Cheers,
Summer.
