    thankyou for your reply but im not to sure about this info you gave me all i have is there marriage certificate how can i find out if this info is correct, where do i go with it as you know i am new to this? i try and ask family but they havent a clue.

    Your best bet is to obtain birth and marriage certificates. Census information and the FreeBMD index can help by giving you leads to track down or by narrowing down the possiblities.

    If you're not sure how to go about this, I recommend you read some of the how-to messages in the beginner forum[s] -- there is some excellent advice to be had just by scanning the posted message.

    hi sorry i have not been in touch i have been trying to get the marriage cert of Mary jane holman & thomas carter i put the year 1896-1898 but they couldnt find it does any one have any suggestion on what to do next? help please
