    Default ROBERT ORR and JANE/JEAN LYLE to N. Carolina

    Sometime after 1750's these folks emigrated from Renfrewshire (Houston & Killellan) across the pond to North Carolina, and settled in Mecklenburg. Sure could use some knowledge on this...

    I expect you have their marriage Houston 22 June 1753 on Scotland's People.

    I would guess that they most likely travelled to America from Glasgow or Greenock.

    They had a Jean Orr born in Houston and Killelan, Renfrewshire in 1770 and a Hannah Orr born in North Carolina in 1772. That's as close to a 'sighting' as I have...

    Yep- but I am beginning to think it must have been by fishing boat, there doesn't seem to be any record of their transit!
