Hi Roy
Thanks for the information. I had Mary Murley marrying Isaac Floyd/Flood - do you know for sure it was John Hutchens? The Floyd marriage was in Phillack. I also wondered if Christian and Isaac were related. Do you have children for Jane, Mary, Benjamin and Arundell and their partners?
I am OK without the gedcom right now but if I decide to delve further I will let you know. I am still trying to sort out all the various Pryor families at the moment.
Thanks Kay

Kay,
The Dunstan name is a very common forename in our family, my late mother and brother carried the tradition, as now does my son.
It came from my Great Grandmother Ella Josepha Dunstan, 1853-1908, when she married my Gt. Grandfather William Marker of Llanelli in Truro in 1872. Beyond her I have traced back to my Gt.x4 Grandfather Nicholas Dunstan b. 1757 and possibly to a Gt.x7 Grandfather Hugh Dunstone 1666-1729 (b.m.d. in Mawnam).
An interesting family story concerns Ella. She was very strong willed and when her husband took her back to the Welsh-speaking Markers in Llanelli they refused to speak English except in dire neccessity. As a consequence she swore her children would never speak Welsh. As my parents were cousins, my grandfathers were brothers. The first, born in Truro bore out her wish, but my Mum's Dad, born in Llanelli taught himself the language but sadly did not pass it to his children, or to me.
If you want any of the info I have regarding the intervening Dunstans, just ask, meanwhile I'll return to my labours in Llanelli!Last edited by LlanelliMarker; 01-05-2006 at 7:32 PM.

Hi David
My connection to the Dunstan family is through my Pryor family. It is interesting to note though that you also have connections in Truro and Llanelli.
When I began tracing the Pryors I found them in Cornwall first and then a branch moved to Llanelli and set up there. Do you have any connection to the Pryor family in Llanelli?

Waves hand in air....
I have Dunstans in my tree. The ones I have originated in the Kea/Feock area near Truro, then those with direct connection to me moved inland to Grampound.
I have several photos of gravestones for Dunstans from Feock, Kea etc if you are interested. I am happy to look through what I have if it is of use. I know I have a Nicholas from Feock in the tree.

Hi Mark
I have Dunstans from Lelant and Mabe. One of the Dunstan's married into my Pryor family from Wendron. Then a Charity Dunstone (b 1716) married into my Pearce family when she married William in 1738. Her father was Nicholas Dunstone. I don't know of any from the Kea/Feock area as yet - but thanks for the offer.

No problem - but if you ever come across any link to the area, let me know!
There are Dunstone family members there as well as Dunstan - so far they seem to be two distinct families in the Feock area. I suspect there was some cross over with spelling which may link the different families, but I have not researched into that so far.

Hi John
I was looking over your list of Pryors from Camborne Area Mining family and although my list starts out with the same individuals it quite quickly changes to a whole new set of individuals who ended up in Australia.
We start off the same with Henry PRYOR (abt 1802-1886) who married Jane (Abt 1792-1863) nee SCHOLARin 1823.
Their daughter Betsy (abt 1824-1913) who married John WILLS in 1843 and all their children.
Then I have Henry Thomas PRYOR (born 1825) who married Elizabeth DAY in 1848.
Next I have William Penaluna PRYOR (1827-1904) who married Ann WEBB in Australia.
There are then 6 other children most of whom went to Australia.
Henry born 1803 was the son of Henry ~1769) & Elizabeth Pryor (~1771) and that Henry was the son of John (Henry) Pryor (1746) and Elizabeth JEFFERY
((~1758). He was the son of Henry PRYOR (1719) and Margaret JEFFRIES (1723). Whose son was Wearne PRYOR (1688) who married Avis GUNDRY (1692).
Do you think we have any sort of connection with the older generations or are we two completely different sets of the same family? I found my information from someone's website so I am not sure if it is absolutely correct. I thought if we went a few generations back there might be a common ancestor.
Kay
