    Default Moses Whiting Haverhill

I am researching my wifes paternal ancestors, surnames Ince & Whiting. Her grandmother was Annie Ince nee Whiting born 1900 and the daughter of John Whiting who was landlord at The Standard Public House in Haverhill around this time. I am however particularly interested in John Whiting's father Moses who married Emma Cole. In the 1881 & 1891 Berkshire census he is mentioned as being an inmate in Broadmoor Asylum for the Criminally Insane yet despite many efforts I have drawn a blank as to what crime he may of commited. If by chance anyone has got information on him or the Whiting / Ince family in general I would be very interested.

Maybe the above link will help. Have a look at the postings on the Institutions Forum...they may also give you some useful tips. Only yesterday I was looking at my ggf's medical records for his four month "rest" in Prestwich Lunatic Asylum.
