I am researching the SHERRIFF surname, including the various spelling variations, in Berwickshire, particularly in the area surrounding the villages of Cockburnspath, Houndwood, Coldingham, Duns, Lempitlaw,and Longformacus.
As I suspect that most of SHERRIFF family groups in Berwickshire are related, I am going to try and establish how they are linked together.
If there is any previous research on this subject, I should be pleased to hear of it.

First Success
As a direct result of my posting, I was contacted this week by a Canadian "Sherriff", who is distantly related to me. I look forward to further contacts from other "Sherriffs" with Berwickshire roots.
