I realise this thread was commenced over 6 years ago and I may be stating the obvious, however I am now aware that Cumbria Archive Office at Carlisle have microfiche records for Whicham going back to the 16th century and even hold original registers in addition to the Bishops Transcripts. Apparently when I spoke to an Archivist there today, she wasn't aware they held them until she looked up for an enquiry I made. Telephone contact number for the office is 01228 227284.
