Look up please for Debden, prior to 1851

Hi,

I have a William Bass b.abt.1823 Debden, he married an Amy Richardson 26th July 1849. I am trying to trace William's family - I know his father is James Bass and that they are both labourers.

Hi - I had a quick look and have found a James Bass in Great Dunmow (about 10 miles from Debden) in the 1841 census, aged 42. He has a wife Amelia (43) and child Charles (13).

The only William that would fit with this is a servant aged 19 at Quendon, a few miles from Debden. The other Williams (mostly from Dunmow again) that were labourers were in households with different fathers' names. I did have a quick look for Amy Richardson as well, and the only one in the county was aged 20 and was also a servant in 1841, but in Maldon. Might fit with him being a servant also, though.
