    Red face Crawley

Looking for any information on a John Crawley born 1867 in Arlesey, Beds. Mother's name was Sarah nee Bowles, father John Crawley a bricklayer/labourer. Cannot find john's parents on the 1901/1881 census, can trace John on the 1901 census living in Bedford st.Pauls with wife Bertha nee Fisher and 2 daughters Dorothry 1yrs and Daisy 3mths old. They went on to have 3 other sons Edward, Cecil and John (my grandfather). Have no other infro when my gr.grandfather and his parents died. Bertha's family (Fisher) where living in Bedford but do not know anything about them. Any help or information would be appreciated, I know Crawley is a popular name around Bedfordshire area.

    Hi Karen,
I think this will be your family in 1881 but it appears John has a second wife.

    Default james patrick crawley

Looking to find out more about my grandfather and what happened to my grandfathers parents. My grandfather James Crawley was born 17th march not sure what year(Married Elizabeth Mills when he was in his mid forties, had daughters, my mum, Hilda, and pat, believe there are other children from a previous wife of indian decent).

He died in Birkenhead in 1945. The only information my mother has is that his parents ran a farm in Birkenhead, he says he did'nt like the farm and left home at 14 and went to sea. When he returned they were dead. All a bit vague?
