My great grandmother was Honor ACLAND and she was born in Tiverton in 1841. Her parents were Walter ACLAND and Honor RIDLER. I have no idea whether Walter and Honor were born and married in Tiverton, but am assuming that they were.

I have come across what appears to be quite a wealthy ACLAND family in Devon, but I have no illusions about Walter coming from this family! He was a carpenter and died in Camberwell, Surrey in 1865 when his neck became caught between two fence poles! Honor jnr was also in Camberwell at this time, but I've been unable to trace any mention of Honor snr. I can only assume that she had died some time previously.

I have no idea when Walter and Honor moved to Camberwell from Devon. Would love to find the family on the 1861 census (which I do not have access to) but am not sure where the family were at that time...
