John Smith
Do you have a John Smith who was boatswain on HMS Naiad. His wife was Rebecca (nee Hancorn).
Thanks,
Ros Dunnico.

HMS Cederic?
Do you know of a ship named HMS Cederic or something similar at the time of the Napoleonic Wars. I am looking for one John Noble who married Harriet Dodds
in Portsmouth 1805.

Do you have George Barnard on the list? He was on the Ardent, Jalouse, Trompeuse, and Helena between 1797 and 1805.

Hi, Gules. I am trying to find out about two brothers, both with distinctive names. One was certainly in the Navy, the other just very probably. First: Augustus Dalby, born 1779in Howden, east Yorkshire, who was promoted to Master on 26/02/1801 (noted in his 1851 obituary that he was one of the youngest Masters ever in the RN). He retired to Saltash, Cornwall where he married in 1812 though may have continued to serve in the Navy until the 1830s.
His brother, Octavius Dalby, born 1784, also left Yorkshire and turns up next in London where he married in 1809 at St.Dunstan's, Stepney.
Either or both may also have served alongside Jasper Boniston (who later became a shipowner in Selby, Yorkshire).
Any help would be appreciated !
