Hello julie115,
Welcome to British-Genealogy.
Your great uncle's service records are still held by the MoD, but as he died over twenty-five years ago you can apply for them. You will need to obtain a copy of his death certificate as well as send £30. More information can be found here.
For obtaining his death certificate you need to quote year 1942 volume 5 page 195 from the War death Army other ranks (1939 to 1948) ledgers held at the GRO. It might be better to phone them rather than order online. There's a 'contact us' link on the right-hand side of the page. https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

HI
Here he is on CWGC - https://www.cwgc.org/find-war-dead/ca...EORGE%20LESLIE
You may also be able to get a photo of the grave.
Here is the war diary for 1942 - https://discovery.nationalarchives.go...s?uri=C1005830
Not online, so you can go and look at it, or pay someone to copy it.
May not mention him by name, but you will know what they were doing when he was killed.
regards
Robert
