    Hi Sue,

    Welcome to British-Genealogy.

Do I presume that you've found Horace's army service records for WW1 on Ancestry? If not, that's the place to start. (You can usually take out a free 14-day trial, but cancel in plenty of time else you'll find a dip in your bank account!) There's quite a few pages to work your way through.

For any service records after approximately 1921 you have to apply to the relevant section of the MoD. See here for further details.

Are you also looking for details of Horace's parents and siblings?

If this is your Horace there are 24 images in his service record on ancestry.
An alternative to taking out a 14 day trial is to ask your local library if they have the free library version of ancestry and then you can download to USB for free or print out.

Ancestry link you to page 3504, but Horace's records actually start on page 3499.

To be successful at this and gain full marks, you probably need to register with either the site above or findmypast, take the 14 day free trial BUT cancel your bank details or as Pam states you will find your bank account has been raided!

You probably need 1901 & 1911 census details

1901 can be found on FMP in the search line you need

Horace OGDEN b1893 Bradford a transcription of the entry appears
The return ref is RG13 4150 185 25 to see actual entry click image

1911 Horace OGDEN b 1892 Braford process as above

The WW1 record and death also come up

Come back if you get stuck
