Default Arp Wardens are they considered Military

    Hi ,
My grandfather Frederick Sidney Baker Born 18/2/1892 in Wisbech was a ARP warden during WW11 I believe in the London Area, Where would I find his records.
Any help in this search would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

They were civilian not military and were organised by local authorities.

"London area" is a bit loose. Can you be more precise about where he lived?

Any BMD events around that period that might show the address (eg any children born)?

    What was his wife's name?

To be honest, the chances of finding anything are low. There's quite a lot for Middlesex in the LMA catalogue but there's also potentially London, Kent, Surrey and Essex which covered bits of what you might call the London area, not to mention borough archives.
