Default Lancaster crashed at Chemnitz 6 March 1945

I'm trying to research my uncle's history and know that his Lancaster (PD403 and UL-F2) came down during Operation Thunderclap - it is believed the Lancaster crashed near Chemnitz.

Of the crew, my uncle is the only one buried, the others are all commemorated at Runnymede.

I'm struggling to understand how my uncle, Flight Sergeant Desmond Hadlow, was the only one to be buried, and how he came to be buried in the Berlin 1939-1945 War Cemetery.

Can anyone give me any ideas on how he could have been buried so far away from the crash site?
