    Default Nantwich Apprenticeship Records

I'm trying to find apprenticeship records for Nantwich from about 1790 to 1810. My ancestor James Morrey was a shoemaker in Nantwich and I'm trying to find his apprenticeship record. Does anybody know if such records exist?

This National Archives advice might help -- covers your time frame.

Apparently they collected a tax on indentures at the time. I had a look on ancestry but didn't see him, might be indexed wrongly, or has a diffent surname spelling.

Have you tried Chester Record Office https://archives.cheshire.gov.uk/default.aspx?page=9

Quite a number of records are kept 'off site' so there may be a delay in accessing them
