Hi tricia31,
Welcome to Brit-Gen.
In the 1911 census James McCabe, aged 46, is living at 75 Benledi Street with his wife Carlone (sic) aged 52, and it says they have been married for 11 years. There is a David Murphy listed as son, living with them, so I think James McCabe married Caroline Murphy in December quarter 1901, Liverpool registration district.
This James gives his birthplace as Dundark, and an age of 46 would make his birth year approximately 1865.
Census reference: RG14 PN22122 SN345
In the 1901 census 75 Benledi Street is uninhabited. (Census ref: RG13/3408 folio 202 page 28)
No McCabes living at number 75 in 1891 either. (Census ref: RG12/2902 folio 89 page 11)
For people who lived at number 75 after the 1911 census you will need to search the electoral rolls. They're possibly at the Archives. https://
liverpool.gov.uk/libraries/archives-family-history/
Bear in mind that most men didn't get the vote until 1918, and nor did women under the age of 30. It wasn't until 1928 that women aged 21 and over got the vote. Only people entitled to vote, or becoming eligible in the current year will be listed. (e.g. a 10 year-old child won't be.)
The 1881 census lists one James McCabe born 1879 whose birthplace is listed as Liverpool.
RG11/3596 folio 38 page 9
22 Bevington Street, Liverpoolcorn
Patrick McCabe, head, mar, 36, corn porter, Ireland
Cathrine (sic), wife, 24, Liverpool,
James, son, 2, Liverpool
Mary. daur, 1, Liverpool
Joseph Murtha, brother-in-law, unm, 20, labourer in flour store, Liverpool
Mary Murtha, sister-in-law, unm, 9, scholar, Liverpool
Fairly certain from that, that Patrick McCabe married Catherine Murtha, June quarter 1878, Liverpool registration district.
In 1891 Catherine is now spelt Katherine, she's a widow, aged 33, born Liverpool.
James is aged 12, Mary 11, and there's another child, Joseph, aged 8. Living 5 in 26 Court, Burlington Street, Liverpool.
Census ref: RG12/2901 folio 36 page 22
In 1901, Catherine, James, and Joseph are living at 4 in 10 Court, Bevington Street, Liverpool.
Census ref: RG13/3410 folio 126 page 40.
I leave to puzzle out the James'.
also any address information on a patrick mccabe , who married mary v murphy liverpool 1937 will be appreciated
Possibly adding in addresses from the birth certificates of any children, though that could start getting expensive.
