I have just had a look & it looks promising. Can't quite make out if the records they have online for Glasgow Port (Jan-Apr 1923) will be expanded on in the future but will keep my fingers crossed.

I think this is the first site I have seen that has data as late as 1960 & a lot of us find it hard to get information on ancestors in the 1900's.
Thank you for bringing it to our attention Tracey I will certainly check it out from time to time.

    Hi Sally

I have been searching on it and had some luck. It seems to depend on the final destination as to the years. I thought at first it only had 1923 as the search year but when i started to broaden my country search it has dates from 20,s to 40,s for the names or just addresses i put in.

    Happy hunting !

    Question help

I had a look on this site trying to find an emigration date for a great-aunt & family. The only info I have is there destination in Canada( dont know if that is where they went on arrival or where they eventually homesteaded)
Is it possible to get info with only names & country of origin
Thanks in advance for any help

    Hi Joette

You can do a search on just last name and destination Canada or any other country you think they might have ended up, you dont have to know where. You can even do a search on just a street name of where they lived in UK ( If you know it) and no sir name, or even just a sir name and no destination. Its a very easy straight forward site to use.

    Good luck

    Default Note of Caution

Be aware that this site is incomplete (to say the least)!.
I had no luck finding my brother, who emigrated with his family to Toronto c.1950.
A search on "Scotland, 1945-1960", yields only one hit in 1954, and about 40 in 1960.

If you read the introduction it says ...................................
The Scottish Emigration Database CURRENTLY contains the records of over 21,000 passengers who embarked at Glasgow and Greenock for non-European ports between 1 January and 30 April 1923, and at other Scottish ports between 1890 and 1960....................which suggests to me its an on going project.
It doesnt claim to be complete and i for one am greatful for it as i "found" mine going to Canada on there.
