Default HMS Drake and the Evans Family of Lianelli

    Hello all,

I'm new to the board. In an effort to track down my grandfather I contacted a man who very kindly gave me a collection military related photos sold in a house clearance in Llanelli.

The WW1 photos were of my grandfather's father and uncles who are all from the Evans family of Llanelli. However there were a collection of photos from WW2 which I have been unable to have identified for a number of years now. One of the men in the photo is wearing a hat with "HMS Drake" on it. Below are the WW2 photos including one from WW1. Any help would be appreciated. Hopefully someone out there knows something.

    Thank you for looking!

    kind regards,
    Eloise

HMS Drake is the name of the Royal Navy Barracks in Plymouth, one clue is that black caps where discontinued mid 1950s, I would suggest the photos were taken late 1940s or early 50s.

I forgot to mention that named cap tallies were not worn during the war years, just the initials HMS. This was for security reasons of course.
