    Default WW2 RN ship?

Wonder if anyone out there knows the name/s of the ship which were on their way to Burma in WW2 and were sunk?

Or a way of finding out, tried national archives and a RN historical website with not a lot of luck?

Do you know the date?, was he killed?

It would be a long process looking at all RN ships sunk in the far east. This site list all ww2 Royal Navy ships and war activities.

And this link for Royal Navy killed.

Thanks Keith, something to try at least. Yes he was killed on the way to Burma - not even sure if merchant navy or royal navy at the moment. In his photo he does have on a uniform, would merchant navy be wearing a uniform, what did they do in the war - is that something that you would also know about? will try those sites.

Royal and Merchant Navy casualties are listed in cwgc.org (www in front). 24,000 Merchant Navy and fishing fleet casualties are on the Tower Hill memorial, see findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=cr&CRid=859739 (+www again). Tower Hill is on my list of places to visit soon, so PM me if you think he's there and want a photograph of his name (but I'll need the name of the ship).
