My mothers cousin was killed in action on 11/02/1942 in a wellington from 12 squadron -I have names of crew members but would like to find out more information about the mission that they would have been on -were 12 squadron involved in operation Fuller ?-the timings are right -the wellington flew from Binbrook

You can download the 12 squadron ORB for 1942 from the NA - for GBP3.36

Lesley - looks like the only crew from 12 squadron lost on the 11th are commemorated on the Runnymede Memorial which suggests their bodies were not recovered - so probably came down in the sea - but from the Order of Battle link that 'helachau' put up it doesn't look as though 12 squadron were involved in that operation

thanks for that -i downloaded the summary of events for February and it logs 2 aircraft involved in an operation against Le Havre on Feb 11th with only one plane returning

Not sure Lesley - only know that the operation was against Le Havre on Feb 11th -no mention of location of crash site

I can see that on the 11-12th Feb 1942 No: 12 Squadron Wellington Bomber W5355 PH with crew:
P/O N N Powell RCAF,
Sgt J W Aston
P/O E Sharman
Sgt D T Smith
Sgt R C Wentworth-Hyde
Sgt G. H. Bonner
All men are commemorated on Runnymede Memorial.
Wellington II W5355 PH - T/O from Binbrook for operations on Le Havre, Plane lost without trace.

thanks for the info -had managed to track these items down - was trying to find info about the mission but can only find that it was a mission to Le Havre and the wreck site is unknown
