There appears to be another son George WAYTE who married on 8 May 1971 aged 21 to Alvina PRINGLE his arents are given as Thomas & Mary.

More importantly are the witnesses....James WAYTE & Elizabeth MOWERS ( she is on the h/hold 1871 census and later married James!)

    Your welcome geneius!

I've had another look through non-conformist BMD's still no Nicholas and only 1 family for Norfolk.

    - not the correct one I'm afraid. This was William Whait and wife Ann who had all their 6 children baptised together on 30 June 1837 (the eldest being John age 11, the youngest William age 6 months).

Something I discovered about searching those BMD Registers:

The search results are listed by name, year and place, BUT some of the events listed as "London" can be very deceiving:

    ie:
    Ann Waitt / father: Thomas Waitt / Birth / 1766 / London / RG4 4660
when you look at the image you find this Ann Waitt was born 27 Dec 1766 in Ringwood, Hampshire.
    (actually 1768 but that's a transcription error!)

Its only the fact that the events were registered at London in Dr Williams Library that the search results show London as the place of the event - very misleading!

To be totally fair, some do have double entries for both London and the original birth place, but it doesn't apply to all
...why would I bother to look at a record for London when I know for sure the person was born in Hampshire, Norfolk, Warwickshire, well any county but London?

I wonder just how many people I've searched for and missed through not knowing of this little foible on behalf of BMD Registers.

I have come to a bit of a fullstop on this thread.
Looking at the cemetery, there is no mention of James as a son, I think it wpould now be useful if the *poster OOps! I will lose this if I go back a page confirms what they have gleaned themselves and how all this fits in!!!!

There are some Wayte's buried in Mountain View Cemetery, Vancouver.

No birth year stated for any of the following.

James Henry Wayte died 19 Dec 1945
    Plot: ABRAY/*/03/006/0013

Elizabeth Waytes died 28 May 1946
Frederick Waytes died 15 Sept 1961
    James Waytes all unknown
    Mary Waytes all unknown
All in same plot: ABRAY/*/12/014/0013 (119)

Its a good indication they are all family related, but with so little to go on they could be anyone aged 5 to 50 yrs old

Maybe its worth Glenda contacting the cemetery to see if they would give out a little more info.

If the grandson James could have been living in US, what about Richmond, Rhode Island for RRI?
