Hello im wondering if anyone could please help a friend of mine his name is William O'driscoll and he would like to find out some history of his father he has heard through family memories that his father was killed while on fire watch having been blown of a roof he does not know where this happened the info he does have is as follows his father was private Walter O'driscoll 6th middlesex home guard died aged 39 at King Edwards hospital Ealing on the 20th nov 1943 he Wishes he could find reports of the bombing on that day he worked in a aircraft factory, lived in Hanwell area many thanks

If he does not already have it, he should get his father's death certificate, as that might give some clues in the cause of death.
I had a quick look in a couple of Newspaper archives (on line) but could not see any thing.

Apparently, according to google search, Abernethies (sic) Department Store in the Uxbridge Road, not far form the hospital, was hit by a bomb and there was some considerable damage......this might be worth following.Last edited by gasser; 26-04-2013 at 10:20 PM. Reason: added some info
