I've now followed up all the links and worked out that all but one of Jane's children have the names of one of Jenny's younger siblings which seems an extra "proof" - now I need to work out father Richard Uren's origins! Thanks again Hugh.

    This might be Anna's parents:

Nathaniel Hicks married Elizabeth Holman 21 Dec 1741 St Ives.

(just for info: there's also a Johnathan Hicks marriage to Mary George 10 April 1779 Mylor)

Have no idea if the following is 'your Richard'

Richard Uren baptised 8 June 1756 St Ives, son of Richard and Sarah Uren.

Richard Uren marriage to Sarah Uren 22 Feb 1754 St Ives.
    - both having same surname makes life easy

I suppose with the Hicks family coming from St Ives maybe a slight chance the Uren's could also have come across from there - dunno, your call!

Another one to throw in the mix:

Richard Uren married Jane Anthony 28 July 1740 Gwinear
...didn't see this marriage on Cornwall OPC but the following children are there, all born Gwinear.

    Jane 1 Nov 1740
    William 5 March 1742
    Anne 14 May 1744
    Richard 4 May 1746 (buried 8 May)
    Richard 17 Nov 1754
    Simon 19 July 1756
    Jane 19 Nov 1758
    James 29 Nov 1760

    - Gwinear still 20ish miles from Mylor though.

Another Richard death, looks like Jenny's brother.
BURIAL: Mylor, Richard Rawlings Hillman Urand 12 Nov 1824 aged 38, so he was born about 1786.

Then there's this marriage worth keeping in mind as the groom's names are common to the Uren children

Marriage. Mylor, Rollings Hillman & Jane Richards, lic. 10 Mar... 15 Mar.1739.
    Interesting.
    Hugh.

Not necessarily Rebecca, that Rollings Hillman isn't a Uren, but I bet he's something to do with them.

Thanks you two! The 1824 burial fits nicely as Jenny's brother, and I do wonder if the earlier Richard death might actually be Jenny's father -sad thing if it is, is that the burial is actually the same day as the baptism of his youngest child. I cannot find any earlier Urens in the Mylor indexes so it is worth taking a look at the St Ives link I think - I know that at this time the Falmouth area was seeing rapid expansion with people moving in from all over Cornwall, so a young couple moving from St Ives is a distinct possibility. As quite a few of the Uren children have middle names which sound as if they are surnames I might be able to spot something to make links there!

I've been through the parish registers on familysearch for Mylor: bmd's 1701-1731

Plenty with surname of Richards but not one Uren or Hillman.
(just to mention the one Rawlings: marriage on 2 May 1711 Thomas Deacon to Mary Rawling)

There is a baptism for Jane, daughter of Samuel Richards on 7 Sept. 1718...as she is of the right age, in the right place, could this be the Jane who married Rollings Hillman in 1739 Mylor?

Other children born to Samuel Richards:
    Elizabeth - 3 Sept 1706 (burial for Elizabeth 27 May 1707)
    Samuel - 2? Apr 1709
    Edward - 5 Mar 1712
    Elizabeth - 30 July 1714

This was the only Jane (no Jenny, Joan/Jone etc) so she might be worth considering.
