Grisel,
Haven't done much on immigration,Queensland became a state in 1859 but many records were taken from New South Wales.I will look at Queensland archives to see who arrived.Don't you wish your forebears could tell the truth!!!

Looking at the records of assisted immigration there is a possible Emily Gower age 17 who arrived at Moreton Bay on the ship British Empire in 1859. No other Gowers on board. The only possible Elizabeth on board was a 36 yr old Elizabeth Ball who looks to be with a 40 yr old Josiah Ball and children John 14 and Sarah 10

Folks,
May have sorted this out.Found a marriage for Elizabeth Quiller to Richard Gower in 1818,Talland,Elizabeth Mary is born 1819 in St Austell and 5 siblings born Talland up to 1827.My best guess is that Emily Rosa was raised by her grandparents and was a touch confused about her parentage.
Thanks all.
Eric
