I have been looking for Jane Boxall Hemming(s) Gasson in the 1881, 1891 and 1901 Census.

I have found her and Emmanuel (who by now is using Gasson as his surname) as boarders in the house of George and Annie Boxall at 35, George Street, Hastings St Mary In The Castle. She is a widow. Ancestry have transcribed Boxall as Boyal and Gasson as Garson.

I can find two deaths for a James Henry Gasson between 1881 (date of marriage) and 1901 (census she is a widow):
    1883 - Hastings aged 0
    1894 - Hastings aged 76

I think it will be a question of searching parish records. It may be that someone on this list has access, or alternative you could try the Sussex Family History Society - sfhg.org.uk/

    Hello Glenda

At this date there is a good chance that she was buried in Rye Cemetery. The records for the cemetery are with Rother District Council. For contact details see this page>
    https://www.
    rother.gov.uk/article/7017/Rye-Cemetery

Rye Local History Group produced an “Index of marked graves” for the cemetery which according to this page has just been updated>
    https://www.
    ryemuseum.co.uk/local-history-group/

    - don’t be surprised though if there is no gravestone for her burial if she is buried there.
