Hi - looking for some info please. Recently I obtained records from the Bristol & Avon Fam. Hist. Soc. - baptisms and marriges etc which I paid for as downloads. These have been excellent. However, I need records covering St Mary's Kingswood near Wotton-under-Edge, Chipping Sodbury, Cromhall, Berkeley, etc. Can someone please tell me which Historical Society I could obtain these from? The Bristol records mention Kingswood but because I can't find any relatives, I think it must be Holy Trinity Kingswood. Please could someone point me in the right direction. Thank you. Allblack

The Wotton under Edge Historical Society may be able to help, depending upon the dates that you are after, or maybe the Gloucestershire Family History Society.

You are searching in an area that touches three counties...........Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire too..........it can be very confusing!
Genuki can help with Kingswood, which is really now with all the development a suburb of Bristol. Many records for Bristol are help at the Bristol Record office.

Hi
You might find some information on https://www.scribes-alcove.co.uk/ for the Berkeley parish. This is a site that I have found very useful for my wife's Summers family.

I think the original question was about the other Kingswood, by Wotton-under-Edge - see this page at GENUKI:
https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/GLS...ton/index.html
That page mentions briefly that this Kingswood was a detached part of Wiltshire until 1844; this means that while the parish registers are in Gloucester, some other documents will be at the Wiltshire Archives.
