364 Wellington Road South, Hounslow

In or about 1948, my parents (now both deceased) bought a house (where I lived until I was 9) at 364 Wellington Road South, Hounslow. It's three houses north of the Warren Pub on the east side of Wellington Road South, just north of the intersection of Wellington Road South and Hanworth Road. In 1957 they sold it to a couple named Brewer.

Can anyone tell me where I might find out who sold the house to my parents?

I'm afraid house history is beyond my ken but the electoral register should tell you the previous occupiers.

To Peter Goodey; thanks for the suggestion about the electoral rolls.

For the sake of completeness I wish to advise that a very kind correspondent in Purley went up to the London Metropolitan Archives but didn't get much assistance, and ultimately got an answer through the Local Studies Centre at the Hounslow Library. It seems they changed the house numbers in the 1950's which caused part of the difficulty.

In any event, I found that my parents purchased the house from one of my mother's aunts. Not earth shattering, but a question answered.
