Hi again
I am looking for a different Quinlan family member than my previous post. This time I am looking for the marriage of Edward Quinlan (Staigue Castlecove, Co. Kerry, Ireland) to Catherine Sullivan from ? but probably Kerry around 1873/4. I have found a daughter Bridget Quinlan born 9/8/1875 and a son James born on 9/5/1878. I found them using family search, but can't find any mariage details.
Thank you very much in advance if anyone is able to help
Maurice

Hi grisel
Thank you again for your reply, I had originally found this name but discounted it because of the time lapse between marriage and birth. However I am sure you are right.
What I am really interested in finding out is if three names I have are brothers, is there a way of finding this out without the parents names? Also I can not be sure they are originally from Caherdaniel.
The first is Maurice Quinlan (who I previously posted about whilst trying to find his marriage to Elizabeth Conway). The second is Edward Quinlan (which this post is about, married to Catherine Quinlan). The third is Patrick Quinlan who was married to Eileen Moran on 23/1/1870 in Caherdaniel Church.
If I can find out these three are related it will greatly further my search.
Thanks again
Maurice

I would not rule out the marriage grisel found. I did look around a lot but Irish records are so sparse that a move from one parish to another and a lot of what you are searching for is unavailable. What I think you have to test is the asuumption of a marriage prior to the birth of the children you know about. 2 children was a very small family in those days. Where there more before these. If there were then the Grisel marriage becomes a possibility.

I'm looking at the census records for Staigue.
In 1901 there is an Edward 66, and Catherine, 56, plus children
Patrick 34, Michael29, James 22, Ellie 19, Catherine 17, and John 12.
In 1911 there is an Edward 77 and Katie 69, with Michael 35, Katy 26, John 23, plus a boarder Ellen Quinlan 73.
Edward and Katie have been married 51 years, 11 children, 9 still living.
Do you think this is your family?
Also in 1901 there is a Patrick Quinlan 62, married to Ellen, 58 with a daughter Abbie 26.

Thank you Raffaele and Grisel for your extensive research on my behalf. Yes I think this is my family and I now have lots more gaps filled. I am delighted to have found Edward Quinlan's marriage and shocked to find out the number of children they had, what a woman!
Thanks again
Maurice
