Hi from Canada - I just joined this forum today and excited to see my family name being discussed. My GGG Grandfather John Harrison Pickrell was born about 1798 so I think he may have been their first child?
John's son William born in 1818 came to Canada and his son George changed the name to PICKERELL - who knows why.
Any chance of getting more help with John Harrison Pickrell's siblings?
    thanks for now,
    SydP

    Welcome to the forum SydP
There is an entry in the Norfolk Extracted Parish Records and Pallot's Marriage Index for England: 1780 - 1837 for:
John Pickrell, of Docking, bat., & Elizabeth Pickrell, wid., lic. 07 Mar 1822 at Hillington Norfolk.

The 1841 Census at Hillington has:
    John Pickrell 43, a farmer
    Elizabeth Pickrell 45
    William Pickrell 23
    Elyabeth Pickrell 18
    Catharine Pickrell 16
    Maria Mores 22
    Mary Jarvis 21

Unfortunately, relationships are not given and ages are normally rounded down by 5 but I imagine it is husband and wife, children and a couple of servants.

You may already have this information but it starts the ball rolling for members to hunt around and find John's siblings.
I suggest Family Search would be the best place to start.

There is an entry in the England & Wales, National Probate Calendar (Index of Wills and Administrations) for, Thomas Pickrell late of Docking in the County of Norfolk a Farmer and Bachelor who died 21 May 1870 at Docking aforesaid were granted at Norwich to Sarah Pickrell of Docking aforesaid Spinster the Sister and one of the Next of Kin of the said Deceased she having been first sworn.
Letters of Admin, 17 June, effects under £1000.

Thank you for taking the time to look into this for me. Yes, I have the 1841 Census and it is interesting that William Pickrell ended up marrying Maria MOSES - not 'Mores' as listed. Just shows you the challenges of tracking someone.
Maria was listed as a 'dairy maid' - so another case of the farmer's son marrying the milk maid
He was 23 and she was 22 and at that age anything can happen.

I have not been working on my family tree for a bit so now I am fired up again.....
    thanks again,
    Syd

    Hi Loetta,
I just looked back in my records and see that we emailed each other 10 years ago on this same subject. Maybe we will both find more now as the web gets better and better. It looks like your William and my John were brothers. I would like to find more siblings in this family.
    Hope all is well,
    Syd
