Further to my previous post, I have realised that I haven't got the death registration of John but believe I can narrow it down to one of two registrations.

The only problem is that both John's died 4 years apart and were born circa 1823.

    Deaths Mar 1875
    Goodger John 52 Kensington 1a 151

    Deaths Jun 1879
    Goodger John 56 Kensington 1a 102

The reason I've picked the Kensington deaths is because Hazelelponi (Elizabeth on the census) is living in Hammersmith, Chelsea in 1881.

Sorry 1834 was a typo and the baptism should read 1824.

    Still cannot find a marriage.

I'm starting to get the impression that they didn't marry unless both of their names are horribly mis-transcribed!

I think this is more of a brick wall than an enquiry!

Has anyone got any ideas what I can do next if they did marry as it's bugging me now!

If they did not marry in Bassingbourn, the bride's parish and the one where the marriage usually (but not always) took place, might it have happened in the groom's parish? I do not have access to the census at home and so cannot see the references above. So, a couple of questions:
    What was the groom's parish?
Have you looked there - at the originals, not transcriptions?
Have you looked at the originals for Bassingbourn?

Thought: Even if the marriage did not take place in Bassingbourn, but Hazelelponi was living there, the banns could well give some clues. Just a thought....

I've just double checked the Bassingbourn parish records and they only have records of Hazelelponi's baptism and the baptism and death of Hazelponi (1820 - 1822).

I've also just double checked the Frindsbury parish records and there is no sign of a marriage there either, Frindsbury is where John gives his birth at on the censuses.
