During WW2 the 820th Ordnance Base Depot Company was stationed at Lockerley, near ROMSEY, Hampshire, UK, in 1943 and 1944 as part of Operation BOLERO; the Commanding Officer was Captain Duane M HART. Local history groups in Romsey are researching the camp and would love to hear from anyone who was stationed there, or from any descendants of them. We would particularly like to learn more of Dave GOLDMAN who painted a number of murals on the walls of the huts.

We have the names of a number of the men:
Captain Duane M HART; J BAILEY; Sgt Luther DALRYMPLE; Lt Dave GOLDMAN; T/4 James DANIELS; T/4 Raymond BURNS; PFC John KEEGAN; T/4 Joe SRAIN; Pvt GOLDENSTIEN; T/Sgt David FRANCIS; Pvt Lieberman; T/4 “Pop” COUGHLAN; Cpt Elmer WINTZ; Lt Abe SCHWARTZ; Cpt George JOHNSON; Lt MILLER and T/Sgt MITCHELL.

Some photographs of them and the camp can be found on a local website:

Any information would be very welcome
