I don't know whether I've just been lucky or whether family history folks are more interested in Beach Volleyball at the Olympics, but I've received 3 certificates from the GRO over the last week in less than 8 days! One was even a day earlier than they predicted.

Does this only happen every 4 years?

Sorry to disappoint you, Malcolm, bu bearing in mind that you ordered the certificates before the beach volleyball started, the speedy dispatch is more likely an annual event due to the kids finishing school and annual holidays starting.

Seems like a good time for me to get ordering some certificates.
I wonder what I did with the list I made two years ago just before the GRO put up the price?

It's more likely to have something to do with the reduced demand for certificates (they cost too much). In the last financial year (ending March 2012) the income for certificate purchases dropped by about 4%.
