Private Car Hire firms in the 1970's

I am trying to find a list -preferably with additional information such as the address and officers and directors -of such a firm that was in operation between 1973 and 1980 in Kingston-upon-Thames. At present all I have is his marriage certificate and both he and his intended were indicated as being in the same field of work and likely in the same company.

He is deceased, but his widow was considerably younger than he, so probably remarried and is still alive, so I cannot post details.

Trade telephone directories of the day would be your best bet as a starting point, Colin, such as Yellow Pages or Thompson's. The Surrey County Record Office may well have copies of these and it could be worth whizzing an email over to them.
