Caroline Annie Desmond born 1 Aug bapt. 2 Sept 1877 at Islington, Charterhouse St Thomas.
D/of Daniel (Marble Mason) and Mary Ann of 24 P????y Street, Bath Street.

Death registered in March 1878 at Holborn.

Cannot find Mary Ann in 1911. 38 Moneyer Street is not coming up on the address search. 36 and 40 are there but I cannot find number 38. There are a few possibles for an Ann or Mary born Ireland.

There is a death registration in Shoreditch in June 1909 for a Mary Ann Desmond.
The age is out for your Mary Ann being as it says 58 (b. 1851) but it depends who registered her death and how well they knew her.

    Thanks Mutley and Janet
I think maybe the first 1901 census in Holborn sounds good.
However I cannot recognise a grandson William in the family, so I need to look at that. Mary Ann was widowed by 1891.
Mary Ann does not always record her birth as Ireland. I think twice it says St Luke's.
I have only ever found two children for Mary Ann and Daniel Desmond, Daniel 1872-1936 and Caroline Annie 1877-1878

The 1909 death also a good possibility and would explain some things but before I order a certificate I will try and contact a family member who recalls her?? or whose father does have anecdotes about. It is surprising how common the name Desmond is in the area.
Thanks again to both of you
