Hi - Edith Lillian Cook(e) was the daughter of Frederick Henry Charles Cook(e). Frederick was the brother of my Great Grandfather,
Thomas Cook, mariner, who went to New Zealand and eventually arrived in Australia to live. All the Cook(e)'s seemed to start off in
Bristol, however, some of the daughters of William and Louisa ended up in London.
I do have a family tree of just about all the Cook(e)'s.
    I live in Australia.
    Regards,
    Sandeea

Hi again - just thought, if there are further details to help with your tree, please let me know. Am only too pleased to help out.
Perhaps, you have some more details I don't know about....we can share information.
    Regards,
    Sandeea

    Hi Sandra,
Great to hear from you. On the family tree which my friend downloaded from Ancestry.co.uk, there are two thomas cooks. One born in 1850 to 1882 and the other born in 1838-1888. Not sure why there is two but which one was the mariner?
The bit that I know about, am discovering, is Edith lillian Cooke who is my mother's paternal grandmother.
The main scandal with her is that Reginald F Cooke is her illegitimateson, not her brother. Probably due to his rejection he changed his name to Stewart to run away and join the merchant navy at 14.
Reginald married Emmie Richards, daughter of Stanley Richards ( a monumental mason just like his father William Richards who built and designed the Deptford war memorial) and Dorothy M. Fleck (1888)
The Richards children were abandoned by their parents Stanley and Dorothy.
One of the Richards daughters, Barbara, moved to New Zealand. She married a Mr Lee.

Sorry just realised I repeated a bunch of stuff there. It's hard to keep track isn't it? Did you create the family tree on Ancestry. co.uk if so thank you.
I managed to look at it back to White cook Snr. I downloaded his will too which is illegible. He was a pewterer.
